The building is owned by Vincent and Iwona. This means that we are willing to invest more into the building than hoteliers who rent the building. That does make a difference. The Ambrosiahotel is not part of a chain. Vincent and wife Iwona look what ‘s necessary. We also execute the desirable changes at a fast pace. The hotel is kept up to date. We offer decent accomodation. You can enjoy ledtv’s with 50 English tv-channels. All used materials are of good quality. We meet all standards concerning comfort, safety, insulation and service. Its new design gives you a cosy and homey feeling.

We don’t have private parking, but usually you can find a public spot very close.

The entire roof is redone and and meets the today standard of insulation. The windows are double glazed. This means that the climate inside is very pleasant.  Airconditioning is not necessary. What we also don’t have. We do have sunprotection to keep your room relatively cool in summer. Fans are in the rooms for those who like it. In winter the entire hotel is comfortably warm. We have 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor. We have a score of 9.1 on

Another pleasant stay

This was our second visit to the Ambrosia.
Vincent, his wife and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location is only a few minutes walk from the main square of the town and very accessible. Parking is also reasonable and plenty available although some charges apply on some days.
The location is perfect for travellers doing battlefield visits.
A very comfortable hotel and would highly recommend

Excellent B&B

I stayed in the Hotel Ambrosia for two nights last week as a solo traveller. Vincent and his wife were great hosts and very helpful. Breakfast was great. I hired one of their bikes for a day to see a bit of the countryside and visit a war grave. The hotel is easy to find, a couple of minutes from the train station and the main town square. My room was small but comfortable, great shower and English tv channels. The stairs may be a little steep and narrow if your infirm or elderly. If you're travelling to Ieper I would not hesitate to book the Hotel Ambrosia.

Stayed here as a family including our two primary age children. We chose it based on positive reviews and it exceeded its reputation. Perfectly sized with all the facilities we needed. Exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and just perfectly located, very quiet yet only a matter of a couple of minutes walk from the Menin Gate and centre of Ypres. We managed to park on the street virtually outside the hotel during our stay. Have already recommended the hotel to others and will definitely look to stay here again when we return to Ypres, which we will.

Wonderful stay ......again!

I have stayed at the Ambrosia for the past 5 years , and I can only say that I would not think of staying anywhere else.
The hotel is clean , modern, well kept and very comfortable.
Vincent and Iwona and staff are very helpful, and make you very
welcome .The breakfast is very nice, lots of selection and everything is freshly cooked. I would recommend anyone to stay and see for themselves and with a great location , and reasonable
tariff you cannot go wrong. I will be booking again soon for 2015.

What a lovely hotel! As soon as we arrived we were made to feel most welcome by Vincent and Iwona. The rooms are beautiful, beds are comfy and the breakfast was delicious! The location is great, with the town square of Ieper being about 5 minutes away.

Every member of staff was excellent, helping us book taxis and recommending florists (as we wanted to lay some flowers at a grave at Tyne Cot).

If we come back to Ieper, we'll be staying here!

Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Welcoming host

We were extremely happy to be greeted by such a warm hostess. The rooms were adequate, the location great and the breakfast delicious. We would always prefer to stay in small hotels such as this where owners are making a huge effort to care for their guests . The owner even did our adult sons laundry for a small fee!
